History and God's Will

Is There a Movement in History Towards a Better World?

We live in a world filled with conflicts, disease, family problems such as divorce and child abuse, and a list of such serious problems that any sensible person should ask himself whether history has any divine intervention, much less any direction at all.

People of faith assert that God has intervened in history in the past and continues to guide history behind the scenes. To proof this the most they can do is point to the stories written thousands of years ago in religious texts such as the Bible. That argument can only be accepted by the faithful and not by people who rely on more scientific means of verification.

Is there any type of proof that can indicate that history is moving towards the realization of some ideal world in the future? Can we find evidence in the books of the Bible that the Creator of the Universe is not some type of deist god who created us and left us to deal with our own problems? Is the God of Jesus, the Father of human beings, involved in our human events, moving us without our awareness towards the attainment of a world of peace, and if so, does he make our collaboration an integral part of that progress or does he do whatever he wants whenever he wants to despite our actions?

I believe that the Bible shows a definite plan being carried out.  This plan moves forward when humans respond in faith and has serious setbacks when we fail to respond in accordance with God's directions. In this sense, history moves forward towards the realization of an ideal by the joint actions of God and humans.

I will show a powerful argument that demonstrates what I have just explained. The Parallels of History shows how this process has been taking place from the very first family described in the Bible. These parallels were discovered by the Rev. Sun Myung Moon and are part of his book the Divine Principle. The parallels show how God has been working according to some principles that he established for the accomplishment of His will.

The truly amazing part about this presentation of history is that it extrapolates the development of the history from the first family till the time of Jesus into the development of the Christian cultural sphere centered in the history of Europe, or western civilization. The principles of the movement of history that are found taking place through the history of Israel are applied to the history of Christianity in the West and are found to bring about some important correlations that had not been noticed previously by historians.

I will not go into an in-depth examination of the teaching on the Parallels of History, which properly are called Historical Time-Identity, in this brief essay. I will simply highlight some basic details in the dates and general social conditions in the different cultures under consideration The incredible similarities cannot be taken as mere coincidences by any reasonable person.

We will see through this study that the parallels could not have occurred unless something beyond human will is moving history towards a definite goal.

Was Yiye Avila a False Prophet?

Yiye Ávila,  one of the most influential preachers in Latin America, referred to by many as the Latino "Billy Graham",  took on the subject of the imminent return of Jesus on the clouds and the rapture as the center of his preaching.  From his pulpit at his church he would repeatedly ask his members "te va a llevar a ti?" "Is Jesus going to take you?" He had just told everyone that Jesus was coming soon. He had told everyone that Jesus was going to take him up in the rapture. He felt extremely confident that his live of total dedication to bring thousands to Jesus and to let God use him as an instrument of healing others demonstrated that his faith met the requirements for he to participate of the rapture. He wanted to urge people to reflect upon their own lives. His questioning may have sound very powerful to the ears of many Pentecostals but the reality set in one day when on   June 28, 2013, Yiye Ávila died from cardiac arrest at the age

The Symbolic Character of Prophetic Language: The Dreams and Prophetic Visions in the Book of Daniel

The Bible contains many important sections where the narrative uses symbols to convey a message in a coded or hidden manner. For instance, Joseph continuously interprets dreams by providing a meaning that eliminates the supernatural or surreal  sense of the dream and transforms the dream into something that we can take practical action to prevent or realize. The most famous one is the interpretation of the Pharaoh's dreams of the seven skinny cows and the seven fat cows. We all Are God's Children

Jordan Feliz Beloved The beautiful and touching song by Jordan Feliz Beloved fills one with the vision of a love of God that is real and beyond any boundary our imagination, including theological presuppositions, may impose. We are essential not accidental. Christian theology, however, sees us humans not as being true children of God, at least not to the same degree that Jesus was. It says that God created us out of pity. Lol, please forgive me for using that old acronym. Others simply affirm that God did not create us because he needed us, so does gotquestions.org, which moves on to add other irrational affirmations as theology.  I just don't know what to say to those believes. I will go into more detail in another post. In this one I just simply state that no parent of love has children out of pity. Far from it.  In this post, I placed Feliz's song above because his song conveys a sense of a profound and real relationship with God. Recently, I had an in
